Spring Break - The Head Start and More at Four classrooms will be closed April 9-13 for Spring Break.

Head Start Policy Council - The Head Start Policy Council will meet on Wednesday, April 18th.  The meeting will be held at the Golden Corral at noon.

New Board Member - Mr. Bennie Heath has joined the Greene Lamp, Inc. Board of Directors. Mr. Heath is a Greene County Commissioner representing the Greene County Board of Commissioners.  

Health Care Benefits - We have renewed our health care benefits with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North Carolina.  New Insurance cards will be sent by BCBS.

Text Box: Annual Prayer Breakfast

The Annual Prayer Breakfast for Kinston/Lenoir County is to be held at Lenoir Community College on May 3, 2007, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.  Greene Lamp, Inc. is hoping to fill a table at the event.  If you are interested in attending, call Lee Parker at the Finance office (523-7770 Ext - 235).  Tickets are $10.00.  Please r.s.v.p. by April 15th.

Eastern Carolina’s Bounty
Text Box: Education Specialist Jo Al-Sharawneh wears traditional middle eastern garb while preparing a traditional breakfast for the More at Four & Head Start children at the Grainger Hill classrooms.  Jo prepared hummus, served on Pita bread with Olive Oil.  She taught the children how to prepare traditional food, as well as how to say a few words and phrases in Arabic.   Jo also demonstrated the wear of traditional headdress with her young, eager, and willing participants.

Thank you to all the employees who responded to the health care benefits survey sent by the Administrative office.  An e-mail was sent from our Finance officer requesting your input.  Our health care benefits have been renewed for 2007—2008.  The new policy goes into effect on April 1st. Congratulations to the Spence Head Start Center on retaining their five stars!  They did very well on their ECERS, while working under a  lot of handicaps imposed by the arrangement of their classroom. 

We are good to go for another three years.
