Workforce Investment Act

 (WIA) Youth Program

The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Youth program is designed to help low-income 16-21 year old, out-of-school youth, seeking assistance in achieving academic and/or employment success. We provide this service in Carteret, Craven, Greene, Jones, Onslow, and Pamilico Counties.

The targeted populations include school dropouts, foster children, homeless, runaway, offender, pregnant or parenting, deficient in basic skills, need help securing and holding employment and/or completing an educational program. Also, auxiliary aids/services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities. To ensure success, we provide or leverage a mix of activities to include assessment, vocational, leadership and job readiness training, tutoring, mentoring, paid work experience, GED or Adult High School diploma, supportive services, basic skills upgrade and on-going counseling and case management.

To get more information, contact the WIA Youth Case Manager at your local JobLink Career Center.
